How to Stop Users from Starting Trials in Microsoft 365

In Microsoft 365, users can start service trials, which might not align with your organization’s policies. For example, Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Teams, Power BI etc. Here’s how you can disable this option to maintain control over trials.

Steps:

  1. Log into the Admin Center: Use your admin credentials to access the Admin Center.
  2. Go to Settings > Org Settings: On the left menu, click “Settings” and select “Org settings.”
  3. Select ‘User owned apps and services’: Scroll to this section and click on it.
  4. Disable trial permissions: Uncheck the box next to “Let users start trials on behalf of your organization.”
  5. Save changes: This will prevent users from starting any new trials.

By following these steps, you can control who in your organization can initiate trials, ensuring security and budget management.
